Environmental Protection Law No. 72/2020/QH14 was passed by the 14th National Assembly at its 10th session with 16 chapters, 171 articles (reduced 04 chapters and increased 01 article compared to the Law on Environmental Protection 2014). The Law takes effect from January 1, 2022, except for Clause 3, Article 29, which contains a preliminary assessment of environmental impacts, which takes effect from February 1, 2021.
