The 2015 Criminal Code, enacted by the National Assembly, came into effect on January 1, 2018, introducing significant changes. Notably, it eliminated the death penalty for certain crimes, specified additional cases where death sentences would not be imposed, and stipulated a number of new offenses. The code also includes provisions addressing the crime of evading payment of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance for workers.
