Decree No. 08/2022/ND-CP provides detailed guidance on the implementation of the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection and introduces the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) mechanism. It regulates environmental zoning, environmental impact assessment, environmental licensing and registration, waste management, and environmental monitoring. The Decree requires producers and importers to take responsibility for recycling certain products and packaging or contribute to the Environmental Protection Fund. This is a key legal instrument to enhance environmental governance and promote sustainable development in Vietnam.
